Genesis

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Salt Lake is one of the premier and leading schools of Kolkata. Established in the year 1987, the Vidyalaya is run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

It is situated in a very serene locality opposite Nicco Park. The building is a beautiful piece of architecture in an extensive area covering 3.5 acres of prime land. It is located in the midst of a tranquil environment far from the maddening crowd. The facility of rickshaw, auto-rickshaw, bus, taxi and metro is available near the school.

The School embodies some of the good features of Public School with emphasis on Indian culture and values without raising the cost of education. School is having four sections from classes I to X and two sections each in classes XI & XII Science, one section in Commerce and one section in Humanities. The magnificent three storeyed school building harbours all the required facilities and amenities of a senior secondary school. The beautiful garden at the entrance, the spacious playground and the separate play field for tiny-tots add grandeur to the Vidyalaya.
